A C section or caesarean section is done when natural, vaginal birth is not possible or feasible. There are many situations where a C section is planned ahead and scheduled and there are also emergency c sections. This is a routine thing nowadays and done so the baby emerges as healthy as possible. An incision is made in the uterus and the baby is lifted out. Recovery is a few weeks and usually there are no complications.
