Laminectomy surgically fixes a "pinched" nerve in the spinal column. Called "decompressive lumbar laminectomy", this surgical procedure treats a condition referred to as a lateral stress stenosis, which occurs when spinal nerves are pinched by the narrowing of the sides of the spinal canal.
