What is Pituitary?

The pituitary gland is a pea-sized gland located at the base of the skull between the optic nerve. The gland secretes hormones (chemicals) that travel through the blood stream controlling functions such as temperature, thyroid, childhood growth, urine production, testosterone (males), ovulation/estrogen (females) and generally controls all other glands that secrete hormones.
