What is Ganglion?

A ganglion is a sac-like swelling or cyst formed from the tissue that lines a joint or tendon. A ganglion cyst is formed by the synoviium that is filled with a jelly-like fluid. They can be surgically removed. Occasionally they are early signs of arthritis but usually form for unknown reasons.
