What is Apoplexy?

Apoplexy is where a person loses consciousness and suffers paralysis in various parts of the body due to a cerebrovascular accident (CVA), which causes uncontrolled bleeding into the brain. Also known as a STROKE, apoplexy happens whenan artery or blood vessel in the brain is blocked or broken, severely reducing blood that carries oxygen to the brain. Without oxygen and nutrients, brain cells begin to die within minutes. A delicate balance of blood to the brain is essential to avoid apoplexy.
