It is the veterinary technicians' job to assist the veterinarian. A skill level is required that allows them to take the animals' history, collect urine samples, take temperatures and x-rays, administer medications, dress wounds, perform IV and tube feedings. They also brush teeth, clip nails and counsel owners on nutrition. Their administrative duties include filing records, handling inventory and maintaining equipment.
