What is the Distance Formula?

Distance is the length between two given points. The first point is represented by (x,y) and the second point will be (x <with a small 2>, y <with a small 2>). The formula for finding the distance is distance or d = the square root of (x<with a small 2> minus x)squared plus (y<with a small 2> - y)squared.
