What is a Valley Glacier?

Valley glaciers are glaciers that begin at the top of a mountain, where it snows yearly and always freezing. Because they are so heavy, they begin to creep down the side of the mountain. The ice builds up until it is so thick that it's bottom layer starts melting a little and mixes with soil and dirt forming a layer that makes the movement easier as gravity pulls it from the top of the mountain. .
