There are three main types of conflict in literature. One is when a man is put against himself, which is an internal struggle. For example, if someone struggles with deciding between what their conscience tells them or what they want. Another conflict is between man and another man, which is an external struggle. And finally, the last main conflict type is man against nature. For example, if someone is trying to make a journey and the weather impedes his progress.
