Square root is the number which, times itself, equals the number you started from. The square root of 4 is 2, because 2 times 2 equals four. The square root of 25 is 5, because 5 times 5 equals 25. Not every number will have an easy square root like 4 and 25. Any good calculator has a square root button. Type in a number, then hit square root, and voila--there you are.
