Why is Bluetooth Called Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a standard that was developed by an association of various electronics manufacturers including Nokia and Ericsson. They decided to call the technology "Bluetooth" based on a 10th century Danish king, Harold Bluetooth, who united numerous countries under one banner.
