What is a Network Bridge?

A network bridge connects two segments of a network together. An example is if you have three computers, call them A, B and C. Computer A has two network cards. Computers B and C have one network card each. Computer A would connect via ethernet cable to both B and C. Thus, computer A is the network bridge between the two once configured properly.
